ROCIS Low-Cost Monitoring Project (LCMP)

The ROCIS Low Cost Monitoring Project (LCMP) began in October 2015.  The purpose of this project is to explore and clarify the value and applications for low cost monitoring devices to address indoor air quality. Monitoring kits are loaned for a 3-week period. The kit includes nine devices to measure particles, CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), radon, temperature, and humidity.

This is a major centerpiece of the ROCIS intiative. The program is an effective mean to engage the community with the relationship of indoor and outdoor air, and the overall state of the air in South Western Pennsylvania. Participants learn about their air quality through hands-on use of monitoring equipment in homes, workplaces and schools. To date, over half of the ROCIS stakeholders have participated in one of the first four cohorts!

To learn more, or sign up to participate for the Low Cost Monitoring Project, visit our LCMP page.
